It literally takes a village to ensure protection of the sea turtles nesting and hatching on Hilton Head Island's beaches each year from May to October. Turtle Trackers has established an endowment fund at the Community Foundation of the Lowcountry to provide funds for sea turtle preservation efforts and programs that will enable Turtle Trackers to fulfill their mission.

It takes a dedicated group of volunteers to provide the education and protections necessary for successful sea turtle preservation.

In order to meet expanded needs in the years to come as Hilton Head Island continues to flourish as a desirable eco-tourism and vacation destination, Turtle Trackers has taken a huge step to assure future programs will be funded.

Turtle Trackers programs include daily Beach Sweeps to "put the beach to bed" assuring that the beach is flat, clean and dark for nesting and hatching turtles. 

Turtle Trackers provide Learning Stations, Docents for Turtle Talks, Retail and Rental Outreach, Beach Ambassadors, Education Programs and more.
